Frequently Asked Questions
What types of paint does Sollac offer and for which surfaces?
Sollac offers various product lines, such as interior and exterior paints, primers, varnishes, special anti-stain paints, coatings, waterproofing and decorative effects. Each product is formulated to adhere better to surfaces such as masonry, plaster, concrete, wood, metal, plaster and ceramics, among others. Always consult the technical data sheet or contact us to choose the product best suited to your needs.
How do I calculate the amount of paint needed for my project?
The calculation depends on the area to be painted (in m²), the number of coats planned, the yield of the product (liters per m²) and the type of surface (if it is rough, it will absorb more paint). As a rule of thumb:
Area (m²) × number of layers ÷ paint yield = liters needed
We provide a Yield Calculator on each product sheet on this website, which helps you estimate the quantity you need based on your measurements and the type of coating. Please also note that different paints may have different yields.
What payment methods are accepted in the online store?
Does the color I see on the screen match the final color on the surface?
Not necessarily – the display on the screen depends on brightness, monitor calibration and ambient lighting. The lighting conditions at the painting location greatly influence the perceived tonality. We recommend:
- Test a small sample on the real surface before full application
- Look at the paint at different times of day (natural light, artificial light)
- Use physical samples or Sollac “color pots” for real visualization
Can I make a custom color mix or request special colors?
Yes. We have a tinting system to mix colors on request. If you choose a color outside of the standard options, this mixture is made to order and is not subject to return. Please contact us and provide the code or reference of the color you want.
Can I return or exchange the product if I get the wrong color or type?
Yes, if the product is in its original packaging, with no signs of use and within the legal return period (14 days or another period defined in the terms of sale).
However, custom-made products or products with a personalized color (for example, paints mixed on request) are not subject to return, except in the case of a defect.
If the product arrives damaged, you must report the problem within 5 working days of receipt, indicating a photo or evidence, so that we can exchange or refund it.
What guarantees do I have regarding the paint's performance (adhesion, durability, color)?
Sollac paints meet the required quality and safety standards, according to their technical data sheets. We guarantee that the product will adhere and provide adequate coverage if the instructions for surface preparation, application and environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) are respected.
In the event of problems (peeling, blistering, premature cracking) that are not due to incorrect application, you can file a complaint within the stipulated time limit (30 days from discovery) for analysis and intervention.
How should I prepare the surface before applying the paint?
Preparation is crucial for a lasting result. In general:
- Surface cleaning: remove dust, dirt, grease and loose debris.
- Repair cracks or holes with proper putty.
- If necessary, apply primer to ensure adhesion and uniformity.
- Protect areas that should not be painted (skirting boards, carpentry, windows).
- Make sure the surface is dry before applying.
How long does it take for the paint to dry or for a new coat to be applied?
Depends on the formulation (acrylic, alkyd, etc.), temperature, ventilation and ambient humidity. Normally:
- Ink to the touch: 1 to 2 hours
- Repainting or applying the next coat: 4 to 8 hours
- Full cure: up to 7 days (for maximum resistance)
See the specific technical data sheet for each product for exact values.
