There are a number of building materials on the market capable of insulating, sealing and waterproofing thermally and acoustically, which allows us to improve the quality of construction and aesthetic finishes. But the specialization of many products results in increased costs for builders and consumers who need to apply a material for each function and deal with incompatibilities between them.
Corticyte® overcame this difficulty by combining all these functions in a single product. Sollac’s development of a thermal lining based on natural cork began at the request of a client who was using a similar product, but which did not provide the necessary performance for lining wood-burning stoves. The need led to research and improvement of the product.
